What is a decision you’ve made – big or small – that ended up shaping your story more than you expected?

Big Idea:
Jesus tells a parable about two people who discover something of immeasurable value – the Kingdom of Heaven. Whether they stumbled upon it or were searching for it, the treasure changed everything once they made a decision to take hold of it.

God has made Himself discoverable – not distant or hidden. In Jesus, He came near so that anyone can find the treasure of life with Him. But Jesus makes it clear: Discovery alone doesn’t change our lives. Decision does.

Baptism is one of the clearest pictures of this – a public declaration that someone has found the treasure, decided to follow Jesus, and wants their story to shape the lives of others.

1. Discovering the Treasure
   Where do you see God’s kindness in how you first encountered Jesus – were you “stumbling” into Him or actively “searching”?
2. The Worth of Following Jesus
   Jesus describes the Kingdom as treasure of immeasurable value. In what ways have you discovered more of the “treasure” of knowing Jesus over time – grace, peace, identity, freedom, purpose?
3. Baptism & Going Public With Your Story
   Whether you’ve been baptised or not, how do you see the power of going public with your faith – sharing your story, taking a stand, and showing others the treasure you’ve found? How might your story (or your baptism) shape the lives of others?
4. The Decision That Changes Everything
   If discovering Jesus is the beginning, what decision do you sense He may be inviting you to make now that could reshape the story you’ll tell tomorrow?
