Sermon Summary:
As the rebuilding of Jerusalem’s walls began, Nehemiah discovered that the work could not be accomplished by one person alone. Chapter 3 is a powerful picture of God’s people working together, each taking responsibility for a section of the wall. While the burden began with one person, the rebuilding became a shared responsibility.
The chapter reminds us that God does not call everyone to do everything, but He does call everyone to take their place. Priests, goldsmiths, perfume makers, families, men and women all joined the work. God used ordinary people who were willing and available.
The message challenged us to move from being observers to being participants. Rather than asking, “Does someone need to do something?” we are invited to ask, “Lord, what part are You asking me to play?”
Ultimately, God sees every act of faithfulness. What may seem unnoticed by people is seen and valued by Him. As Jesus builds His Church, every person has a place, a purpose, and a contribution to make.
